This country is roughly split down the middle on abortion.  We had reached an unofficial truce on the issue at roughly the point of viability. If the baby could survive outside the womb, no abortions unless there was one a hell of a reason.

But the abortion industry didn't like that, not one bit, and as a result of the 638,169 legal abortions reported to CDC in 2015, 1.3% were after the point of viability.  That's about 8,296, if you were wondering. For reference, there were 9,616 murdered with firearms that same year.

Perhaps it is too cynical to assume that the 1.3% figure has been going up since 2015.

The radical feminists didn't like the truce, either, and managed to get New York to literally legalize infanticide and the Governor of Virginia publicly supported the idea.

So now the truce is broken.  A day or two ago, Alabama retaliated by making abortion illegal.  Other states are also pondering the issue.

I was on the side of legal abortion.  This is no longer the case.  The truce has been broken, the pro-abortion side crossed the line.  Not just a little bit, they cannot even see the line anymore.

But that wasn't sufficient to change my mind, not really.  My positions do not depend upon popularity.  What happened was I managed to find 2 videos online of a second trimester and a third trimester abortion.

They weren't easy to find.  There is a lot of gawdawful shit online;  barbarity, sadism, and shit you cannot un-see.  Shit done to animals, shit done to people.  Shit done by people.  Once that curtain fell away, other things were exposed.

I learned there is no scenario where a baby, past the point of viability, is a threat to the life of the mother.  C-sections are faster and safer than abortions, by far. Abortions due to rape account less than 1% of the total.  Abortions due to incest are nearly non-existent… less than .01%. What that means is the overwhelming majority of abortions are for reasons insufficient to justify the act.

The radical left has broken the truce.  I will no longer support keeping abortion legal, I will no longer oppose making it illegal.

Some celebrities have weighed in on the matter, awkwardly and ignorantly.  Alysa Milano called for a sex strike to punish men, in general. Emily Ratajkowski posted a nude photo of herself directed at the 'old white guys' in the Georgia senate, to punish them.

I hope those two are not indicative of the caliber of arguments available to the pro-abortion side.  Not having sex = no aborted baby and anyone who has seen Ms. Ratajkowski will be confused as to how receiving a nude image of her can be thought of as, 'punishment'.

Come to the Dark Side. We have cookies. The advantage of insinuations over hard arguments is that they bypass critical thought. No one can respond precisely to a charge that is utterly vague or to accusers who will envelope any reply in a poisonous fog of further insinuations. ~ David Warren, The Guardian There was a time when there was enough freedom that it hardly mattered which brand of crooks ran government. That has not been true for a long time and that captures an important point. The more powerful the government becomes, the more people are willing to do in order to seize the prize, and the more afraid they become when someone else has control. ~ Glenn Harlan Reynolds “The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it. Power is what all messiahs really seek: not the chance to serve.” ― H.L. Mencken

Not that we should care, but Abortion in Russia is legal as an elective procedure up to the 12th week of pregnancy, and in special circumstances at later stages.[1] In 1920, Russian Soviet Republic became the first country in the world to allow abortion in all circumstances, but over the course of the 20th century, the legality of abortion changed more than once, with a ban being enacted again from 1936 to 1955. Russia had the highest number of abortions per woman of child-bearing age in the world according to UN data as of 2010.[2] In terms of the total number, in 2009 China reported that it had over 13 million abortions,[3] out of a population of 1.3 billion, compared to the 1.2 million abortions in Russia,[4] out of a population of 143 million people. From Wikipedia ............. Have to admit cringing when parents were making abortion decisions based on sex. After all, children are a gift from God. The burden Of Downs Syndrome children for older mothers is a dilemma I wouldn’t want to face; amniocentesis gives them a clue, but it has to be a tortuous decision, especially if you already have seven. Sweet, for me to just leave the decisions to the individuals rather than take responsibility, forcing government control of their futures. It’s a free country........
You'll never get out of this world alive
