I’ve another week to go for the incubation period, if I was exposed during my week on Maui or on flights to and from.

Everything I usually order online from Costco is labeled out of stock.

My Hypertension is an underlying condition and I’m elderly.

Aside from that, life’s normal for me .....all the recommendations, so far, are already habits of mine.

It is quiet, but I’m enjoying it.

Once your symptoms appear and you’re in the throes of it, you’re not inclined to do anything more than suffer through if, so the advice to stay home, stay safe is too late, at that point.

Some may be immune.  They’ve identified a marker in the blood than would release people from isolation.  It’d be nice if blood donors, already in records of the Red Cross could be released, but their tests may not reveal that marker.  Blood drives are being shut down, creating a shortage of blood for other needs, though Coronavirus is not blood born.

I was surprised by how close we are globally as it spread so quickly to every country, almost felt strategic.  Boomer removal is the funniest description, but Millennials are the much larger group of the two.  China’s generations of one child per family that produced spoiled brats and poor workers without solving population issues seemed a likely target.  How did it spread so quickly?

Hope you’re doing well!

COVID-19 is not blood related.......that’s why they can still collect blood which is in critically short supply from fear of the virus. It’s a valid fear, but unrelated deaths are also likely, given the short supply, especially of O+ like mine. I received a personal phone call from the Red Cross, for heaven’s sake. Donated blood, Monday. They sanitizer, glove, mask, and take the temperature of your forehead before letting you in the building. They were training, so my blood pressure was done twice for accuracy and the excessive bleeding of one finger being captured spoiled the sample, so another finger was sampled. Fortunately, that’s where training ended and an experienced, gentle soul drew the blood donation. Two people had appointments before me that didn’t show. The newspaper headline asking why so many cases in our county probably gave them pause. I feel better today, as usual, after donating blood............for whatever reason.

Most of our restaurants are closed, but a few have shifted to take out orders only and some offer no contact delivery for the first time. Dominoes has been on that from the beginning. Son3 is sequestered in Pullman, WA; he usually brings dinner every Sunday, watches a couple of movies, does laundry, whatever. However, Son1 just phoned in for pickup, my Camerone’s a la Crema from El Sombrero for Mother’s Day. Daughter did an hour on FaceTime with me while getting a salon treatment from her nine year old daughter. Son2 will probably text me later from Virginia, as usual. Watched my grandson’s YouTube graduation video: it’s precious and heart warming and probably more intimate and informative than had I been able to attend. College cancelled the ceremony, so I cancelled my hotel reservation and flights and because of COVID 19 my non refundable reservation and tickets were refunded. Generous, but I’m concerned about who will survive. Survival of the fittest can be brutal, though efficient.

I am good to go. Most of Missouri is open for business. Mamabear and I have eaten out several times since the end of June. We walk the two mile trail in our city park several time a week. I do 30 minutes on a stationary bike when we don't go to the park. We have shopped weekly for groceries and other necessities since the beginning of this government power grab began. If we get it, we get it. I believe God's promises in PSALM 91.

As many suspected, the actual death tally from covid-19 was vastly inflated due to the moral hazard created by the federal government when they started giving $ per covid case and the resulting reports of deaths due to covid.

Briefly, if a body had been exposed to covid, it was counted as a covid related death thus giving the hospital access to federal covid money.  The results were predictable;  dying of cancer but exposed to covid?  Covid death, not cancer.  Died in a car/motorcycle crash but had been exposed to covid?  Cause of death:  covid, not car/motorcycle crash.  And on and on.

Add to the fun that the tests are not 100% reliable... lots of false positives.

So... yeah.

I was expecting it to be much worse than it has been due to the reports I was receiving out of China.  I do not understand what has happened, my sources were reliable, video was available, phone conversations, satellite data, phone conversations, leaked records and even published records suggested covid-19 was going to be a bear.

So... yeah.

What it appears to be is that it was real but the victims were primarily elderly and those already ill with something else and those who were put on ventilators rather than anti-coagulants.

Maybe, as time passes, we'll get to the truth of what happened but

The usual precautions against viral infections appear to be effective;  hydroxychloroquine, massive doses of vitamines C & D, zinc, etc., etc., etc.  Oddly, melatonin seems to push back, too.

Anecdotally, I work in a jail and have been exposed several times.  I have been on massive doses of Vitamins C & D... plus melatonin 'cause it helps me sleep.

Because I am at risk and also the approach of flu season I have doubled down on Vitamin D and C in addition to my one a day for those over 65. Normal precautions seem to be working well for me and mamabear. I will be getting a guess what strain of the flu we'll have this year shot the end of next month.....

Looks like 30% of Americans have already been infected and that the death rate is 0.25%.  Start 10 minutes in if you are in a hurry.  That, plus the new vaccines in the pipeline looks as if herd immunity is just around the corner.

This was shared on a Covid survivor group...have heard many of these before but it seems helpful:

HOW TO FIGHT COVID AT HOME

No one ever talks about how to fight Covid at home. I came down with Covid in November. I went to the hospital, running a fever of 103, a rapid heart beat, and other common symptoms that come with Covid. While I was there they treated me for the high fever, dehydration and pneumonia.

The doctor sent me home to fight Covid with two prescriptions -  Azithromycin 250mg & Dexamethason 6mg. When the nurse came in to discharge me, I asked her, "What can I do to help fight this at home?" She said, “Sleep on your stomach at all times with Covid. If you can’t sleep on your stomach because of heath issues sleep on your side. Do not lay on your back no matter what because it smashes your lungs and that will allow fluid to set in.

Set your clock every two hours while sleeping on your stomach, then get out of bed and walk for 15-30 min, no matter how tired or weak that you are. Also move your arms around frequently, it helps to open your lungs. Breathe in thru your nose, and out thru your mouth. This will help build up your lungs, plus help get rid of the Pneumonia or other fluid you may have.

When sitting in a recliner, sit up straight - do not lay back in the recliner, again this will smash your lungs. While watching TV - get up and walk during every commercial.

Eat at least 1 - 2 eggs a day, plus bananas, avocado and asparagus. These are good for Potassium. Drink Pedialyte, Gatorade Zero, Powerade Zero & Water with Electrolytes to prevent you from becoming dehydrated. Do not drink anything cold -  have it at room temperature or  warm it up. Water with lemon, and little honey, peppermint tea, apple cider are good suggestions for getting in fluids. No milk products, or pork. Vitamin’s D3, C, B, Zinc, Probiotic One-Day are good ideas. Tylenol for fever. Mucinex, or Mucinex DM for drainage, plus helps the cough. Pepcid helps for cramps in your legs. One baby aspirin everyday can help prevent getting a blood clot, which can occur from low activity. "

Drink a smoothie of blueberries, strawberries, bananas, honey, tea and a spoon or two of peanut butter.

We always hear of how Covid takes lives, but there isn't a lot of information out there regarding how to fight Covid. I hope this helps you or someone you know, just as it has helped me.

I tested negative for antigens according to the American Red Cross after my blood donation.

Here are 12 things to consider as we get closer to closing the door on one of the most horrible years of our lifetime:

1.     The dumbest thing I ever bought was a 2020 planner.

2.     I was so bored I called Jake from State Farm just to talk to someone.  He asked me what I was wearing.

3.     2019:  Stay away from negative people.  2020:  Stay away from positive people.

4.     The world has turned upside down.  Old folks are sneaking out of the house & their kids are yelling at them to stay indoors!

5.     This morning I saw a neighbor talking to her dog.  It was obvious she thought her dog understood her.  I came into my house & told my cat.  We laughed a lot.

6.     Every few days try your jeans on just to make sure they fit.  Pajamas will have you believe all is well in the kingdom.

7.     Does anyone know if we can take showers yet or should we just keep washing our hands?

8.     This virus has done what no woman has been able to do.  Cancel sports, shut down all bars & keep men at home!

9.     I never thought the comment, “I wouldn’t touch him/her with a 6-foot pole” would become a national policy, but here we are!

10.    I need to practice social-distancing from the refrigerator.

11.    I hope the weather is good tomorrow for my trip to the Backyard.  I’m getting tired of the Living Room.

12.    Never in a million years could I have imagined I would go up to a bank teller wearing a mask & ask for money.

Here’s hoping for a Happier New Year!

Thanks, that is interesting.

Right or wrong I expected a flurry of nonsense, so I haven’t been keeping up with the latest.

In October I spent a timeshare week at Gaslamp Plaza Suites in San Diego.  Streets were strangely quiet, but food delivery was exceptional, felt like a different country every evening for dinner.  One homeless woman asked if I could loan her $3.....still makes me laugh.

I never have cash, rarely is it a disadvantage.  It’s  a bit more expensive, but a comfort to use a credit card.

The round trip flights was nice and clean, and much more comfortable not being squeezed between two heavy set people.

Cabs were there to take me to the resort, but the price was doubled from a year ago..  I called Uber for the return trip:  half the cab’s rate for the same distance.

The airport was sparsely populated and very few restaurants were open.  People kept their distance, all of us wearing masks.

I liked it.  Ten days later, nothing....not even a cold.
