Actually, they have psych wards in hospitals, and they do psych evaluations as requested by doctors. All suicides get treatment. Poor treatment at a facility should have been disciplined, not disposed of in such a cruel manner. Private contractors are the source: sound so good but profit gets in the way of care, not just for psych but the elderly. They conned our county commission so often that the commissioners closed the facility and sold the property it was such a political nightmare for them. Private public partnerships fool the public, people rule. When the money runs out for the old folks, they drop them off near the homeless, where they are likely to be picked up and cared for by someone using grant monies. The cost of care is astronomical, almost that of a cruise ship where the service and care is infinitely more desirable.
